About Karen Stewart

Karen Stewart, President, LEED AP BD+C at EcoPotential is passionate about helping individuals and companies discover their potential for contributing to a sustainable and regenerative future.   

 

Qualifications & Education

Karen Stewart, LEED® Accredited Professional, holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Memphis State University.  Karen also holds the following list of relevant credentials:

  • USGBC Faculty Member
  • LEED AP BD+C
  • LEED Green Associate
  • Green Advantage Certified
  • Purdue: Green Generalist
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research: Certified Instructor
  • AIA/CES Education Provider

Karen has over 22 years experience in a professional career that includes engineering, project management, LEED consulting, curriculum development, teaching, manufacturing, process management and systems integration.

Karen has taught LEED, green building and sustainability to over 500 students since 2007 within the Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri area. 

Karen is an active member of the Western Branch of the Arkansas Chapter of the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

Karen has experience in a number of LEED projects.  These include:

  • AERT Manufacturing Facility in Watts, Oklahoma
  • Tyson Foods Discovery Center in Springdale, Arkansas
  • Tyson Foods WHQ Office Expansion Tower 3 in Springdale, Arkansas
  • District Court and Prosecutor Facility in Fayetteville, Arkansas
  • Visitor’s Center at the Neosho Fish Hatchery in Neosho, Missouri
  • Waste Management Innovation Center in Rogers, Arkansas
  • REI Office Building in Durant, Oklahoma
